I just wanted to share this little story about a little girl who was probaly about 7:
Everybody knows who Mrs Mangle is right? The bizzy body neighbour from Ramsey St, Neighbours- 20 years ago??
Once upon a time was a little girl who just loved to help people. She was caring and sensitive. One day at school when she was sitting on the mat in class her teacher pointed at her to close the door. Her heart jumed because her teacher had needed her to help. She quickly got up, closed the door. skipped back to her spot and sat down waiting for what her teacher was going to say next.
Her teacher pointed a crooked finger and said in a nasty voice "Not you- Mrs Mangle". Everyone in the class laughed and the poor little girl just wanted to shrink into a hole. At play time no one wanted to play with her and some of the kids started calling her Mrs Mangle. The poor girl just wanted to cry and she did alot when no one was looking.
The little girl returned to school the next day- this time not only was her class calling her Mrs Mangle but the whole school. She felt so bad! The little girl tried to tell her parents but no one would listen or do anything to stop it. That name lasted until she was in high school and left town. Everytime someone said it- she remembered that no one liked her, that she was a dick and that she would never be good enough.
It's a true story and I'm certain a teacher would never set out to intentionly hurt or harm a childs self esteem like the way this little girls was. Her low self esteem and inferioty was a mixture of things the enemy used to try and destroy her.
God has a plan for each of our lives but we must always remember and know that the enemy does to!
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10:10
Satan sets out to make us believe lies about ourselves that are so far from the truth, he attacks our minds and our thoughts and he likes to get in there when your young. If he can have you believing your useless and worth nothing as a child just maybe, just maybe he'll stop you from achieving Gods plan for your life!
Satans voice is the negitive unwholesome garbage people speak over us or we hear in our mind.
This little girl, unknowingly heard the enemys voice- he invaded her thought life cunningly to crush the plans the Lord had for her. Satan used it for years. What a blessing it is to know that she knew the God and eventually allowed him to direct her paths, she went around in circles and took a few knocks along the way but this little girl is now a woman serving God whole heartedly and living a life that pleases him.
God loved her so much he saved her from a life of never feeling good enough and never feeling loved.
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Genesis 1:26-28
What does this mean? When God looks at you he see's a bit of himself (Alex Seeley)
And we have authourity and dominion over everything that moves. We have authourity over every lie and plan the enemy has.
I am not what I have done, What has been done to me or what has been said about me.. I AM what God says about me. For that is the truth - Alex Seeley

it really has been awhile
Thanks flick for inspiring me to blog again! not that it was much of a blogging in the first place: lets hope this attempt is better than the last!
So what have I been up to? After deciding to stay in NZ brisbane flooded and I was so relived I listened to God and stayed. This year I decided to do an internship. I remember my first day on my way to church riding my new bike. I was trying not to get mad because the handle bars were falling off and if I had done it myself then they wouldnt be falling off. anyway trying to not swear under my breath and reminding myself where I was off too I carried on very dangerously and wobbly. I made it without falling off and promptly fixed the bike myself like I should hae done in the first place. Ready for my first day as the intern! phew I had made it. I never imagined this year taking me on the journey it has from the first day sitting there wondering how to look busy to helping organise revo tour, band wars. youth leading, kids leading its been one crazy year and its not over yet!
Anyway thats all for now
xx

Welcome To HollandbyEmily Perl Kingsleyc1987 by Emily Perl Kingsley. All rights reserved. |
I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this......
When you're going to have a baby, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip - to Italy. You buy a bunch of guide books and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. The Michelangelo David. The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting.
After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, "Welcome to Holland."
"Holland?!?" you say. "What do you mean Holland?? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy."
But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay.
The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place, full of pestilence, famine and disease. It's just a different place.
So you must go out and buy new guide books. And you must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met.
It's just a different place. It's slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around.... and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills....and Holland has tulips. Holland even has Rembrandts.
But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy... and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."
| And the pain of that will never, ever, ever, ever go away... because the loss of that dream is a very very significant loss.But... if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things ... about Holland. |
